Make-A-Wish® creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We seek to bring every eligible child's wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child's treatment journey. Research shows children who have wishes granted can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight their illness which can give them a higher chance of survival. (visit wish.org/impact for details)
Medically eligible children are between the ages of 2½ and 17 (at the time of referral) and have been diagnosed with a critical illness. Children are ineligible if they received a wish from another wish-granting organization. The child's physician, certified nurse practitioner or certified physician assistant determines whether a child is medically eligible to receive a wish. Our main referral sources are the area’s pediatric hospitals, for example: CHOP, Nemours, Penn State Children’s Health.
