Event Description: Facebook: From Novelty to Necessity Leveraging the Value of Social Media Marketing (Webinar) with Beth Brodovsky, President, Iris Creative Group, Inc. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tuesday, August 16, 2011 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm (E.T.) Whether the use of social media began as an experiment or a harmless activity for the intern, it has now become a genuine communication strategy. Websites and email took years to gain wide adoption, yet communication in social media has grown at a remarkable pace. Social media has become part of the communication toolbox and organizations are now looking to go beyond a “presence” and gain value from their efforts. Of all the social spaces, Facebook consistently ranks as the most used platform and the place where people would most like to connect with organizations. Having won the battle of having a Facebook page, organizations are now struggling with what to do to attract more fans, generate conversations and get their social community more involved with the organization. This program will dig deeper into how nonprofits are using Facebook to better connect with their communities. We will look at what organizations are doing well and discuss the opportunities and challenges in turning Facebook from an experiment into a high performing communication tool. Learning Objectives: • Explore new communication opportunities • Explain what can and cannot be controlled • Discuss the technical challenges • Share sample strategies and tactics – and what it takes to achieve them • Contribute ideas for integrating Facebook into overall communications Level: Basic > Intermediate Who Should Attend: Development Staff; Other Staff with Development, Marketing & Social Media Responsibilities --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Cost: $62 PANO Members; $112 Nonmembers --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have any questions, please email james@pano.org. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE LOG IN BEFORE YOU REGISTER!
