Event Description: Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes is part of the American Diabetes Association’s movement to Stop Diabetes® and the signature one-day, fundraising and awareness walk taking place in 135 cities across the United States. Step Out helps raise money that will change the future of diabetes and the 25.8 million American children and adults living with the disease. Participants can join the movement by registering and recruiting co-workers, friends and family members to walk and raise money. The day of the Walk is a party to celebrate the fundraising accomplishments of teams and individuals as well as an opportunity to promote awareness about the seriousness of diabetes in the local communities and the Association. Monies raised through Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes will help fund research to prevent, cure and manage diabetes; deliver services to hundreds of communities; provide objective and credible information; and give voice to those denied their rights because of diabetes.
