Event Description: The program, which educates communities about Turkey's rich culture, runs a full calendar year and focuses on giving an overview of Turkish culture in a broad context. With a spring Teachers Workshop and a Teachers Study Tour in the summer, and public cultural programs in the fall, the program emphasizes classroom learning and public education about Turkey's culture and its contributions to the global community. Teachers who attend the workshop will be able to apply for a Study Tour to Turkey during the summer of 2012. Three teachers from the Harrisburg area went on the study tour last year. The study tour will allow teachers to visit Istanbul, Ephesus and Cappadochia, important historical and religious sites. And teachers will spend 10 days learning about the history of Turkey.
