Event Description: Uplifting Athletes is pleased to announce our participation once again in the 2012 Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community presented by Highmark Blue Shield on Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Harrisburg Area Community College in Harrisburg, PA. Registration starts at 7:45AM; the 5K starts at 9AM, the one-mile Fun Walk starts at 9:15AM. We are participating in the walk because it gives us the opportunity to raise funds to support our programs. The Highmark 5k Walk/one-mile Fun Walk is an annual event where the community is encouraged to walk for Uplifting Athletes as one of the supported organizations. Each donation to Uplifting Athletes goes directly to our organization to aid in our mission to align college football with the rare disease cause. All costs are underwritten by Highmark, allowing 100% of donations to go directly to the participating organizations. Start gathering friends, family members, neighbors and co-workers to join our team to raise awareness and funds for rare disease.
