Event Description:
The Communication Gym Fall Gymposium 2012 Tuesday, October 23rd 2012 Presented by Dr. Dilip R. Abayasekara, Ph.D. The Language of Leadership How to Communicate and Foster Excellence as a Leader If leadership is a language, how well do you speak it? Every organization, every society, every nation is always in need of great leadership. You could be that leader! In this workshop, Accredited Speaker Dr. Dilip Abayasekara, a past international President of Toastmasters International (the world’s leading volunteer organization for developing communication and leadership skills), will lead us to discover the vital elements of the language of leadership. We will answer fundamental questions about what leadership is and how management and leadership are different but vital for organizational success. You will be introduced to Dr. Dilip’s model for organizational success and eight practices for aligning and empowering people. Find out how well you do in those eight practices by doing a self-assessment. You will leave the workshop with specific ideas on what you can do to make a positive impact at home, work place and elsewhere because you speak and live the language of leadership! What Participants Say "(What I gained were) a focused review of leadership principles and challenges; the distinction between leading and managing. Examples, audience involvement, organization, pacing, were excellent. If I were still working, you would be a resource trainer!" Bob Blakeley, Retired Past International President Toastmasters International "I learned many definitions of a leader and manager and what it means to manage versus lead. Great handouts. Excellent. Very polished. Humor added appropriately. Great audience response." Donna Rodgers, Fredericksburg, VA There will be a mixer from 5:30 - 6:00pm. Food and beverages will be served. Program begins at 6:00. Space is limited, so get your tickets for this exciting event today at http://fallgymposium2012.eventbrite.com/
