Listen, Ask, Sell! How the right questions affect your sales process Tuesday, February 26th 2013 9:00am – 12:00pm Presented by Deborah L. Asking questions isn’t enough to get the sale. Asking the ‘right’ questions is critical to creating a more honest dialogue in which both parties needs can be met more effectively. But asking the “right” questions isn’t enough either, if you are not listening ‘between the lines’. People’s answers are like gold that needs to be mined for them and you to gain the full benefit. Listening first, then asking based on what you have heard will drive a more pointed dialogue, helping get to a mutually beneficial outcome quickly and effectively. It is hard to ask the ‘right’ questions and listen unconditionally, without interjecting one’s own personal filters. The good news is that asking effective questions, and listening with the intent to understand beyond the obvious are both skills that can be learned, practiced and mastered.
