Event Description: Mechanicsburg Museum Association is sponsoring a bus trip to Jim Thorpe on Saturday, September 6, 2014. You will not want to miss the following trip highlights. - A relaxing ride on the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway that travels through beautiful mountain scenery. This train trip also includes PA Dutch treats!(sample of ring bologna, pickles, cheese, pretzels, shoofly pie, birch beer/bottled water and sodas) - A visit to the Mauch Chunk Museum and Cultural Center with exhibits focusing on Lenape Indians, coal mining, waterways and railroads, the unique Switchback Railroad and of course, the story of Mauch Chunk (Jim Thorpe) -Lunch on your own -Free Time to explore the many shops and galleries Seats are limited and will be available on a first come-first served basis so register soon! Registrations will be due by August 20, 2014. Cost is $86 which includes bus & driver tip, train ride & museum admission.
