Event Description: We invite all talented high school and college students to submit their poetry works and/or short stories to participate in the competition and compete for cash prizes! Subject matter should reflect peacemakers/peacemaking, non-violent efforts for change, selfless acts of heroism, tolerance and appreciation for diversity, highlights of people coming together to resolve differences, and social justice locally, nationally, and/or internationally. DEADLINE - 6 P.M. JAN. 12, 2016 Submit your ORIGINAL works to wachreply@gmail.com A panel of judges will select winning entries with winners receiving their prizes at the International Poetry and Storytelling Festival on the evening of MLK Day. The event will be held at Temple University Harrisburg in Strawberry Square. Save the date: January 18, 2016 At the Gala Event you will have a chance to meet professional poets and writers who will share their experience and talent with the younger generation.
